Uzair Baloch's acquittal: Witnesses at risk

Lyari gang warlord Uzair Baloch also began to influence cases in prison. Prosecutors have made revelations in court regarding the continued acquittal of Uzair Baloch. According to the prosecutor, the witnesses and the prosecution are receiving death threats.

During the hearing in the Sessions Court in Karachi on Friday, the prosecutor said that Uzair Baloch and his accomplice were arrested from Maripur in July 2005. Last year, IO Shehab Haider, a key witness in the case, was killed by the Lyari gang war.

The public prosecutor said that other witnesses were also being threatened. Judicial staff and prosecution are in danger of being killed by Uzair Baloch and Lyari gang war. Witnesses are not appearing for testimony for fear of the accused.

The public prosecutor said that the witnesses should be provided protection to the prosecution and the court staff. The court should give time to present evidence in the case. The case property is burned in the City Mall or elsewhere. It would be premature to say anything in this regard.

Lawyer Sarkar sought time to present the case property in the case. The court gave the last time to present the case property till the next hearing.

On Thursday, a Karachi local court acquitted Uzair Baloch in two cases on the same day.

The court remarked that the prosecution also failed to present evidence in the police assault case. Uzair Baloch was charged with assaulting a police armor in 2012. Uzair Baloch has also been acquitted in the Kalri police station assault case.
