Coca-Cola loses billions of dollars because of Cristiano Ronaldo

Companies around the world choose celebrities to promote their products because they think that consumers will be attracted to their products because of these celebrities.

But if the same celebrities send a message against a product, it could be a big financial blow to the company.

Something similar happened to Coca-Cola, the world's most popular soft drink company, when world-renowned footballer Cristiano Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca-Cola from a table during a press conference.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Cristiano Ronaldo during the European Football Championship on Monday removed two bottles of Coca-Cola from the table in front of him during the Budapest press conference and put them aside and said in Portuguese, "Agua"  Which shows that they are encouraging people to drink water instead of Coca Cola.

Shares of Coca-Cola plummeted after Ronaldo's action, and the soft drink's market value jumped from 24 242 billion to 23 238 billion.

The Coca-Cola Company, which is sponsoring the European Football Championship, said in a statement on Tuesday that everyone has the right to choose their own drink according to their taste and need.

A spokesman for Euroz said, Athletes are offered water as well as Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero during the press conference.

Ronaldo's video clip has also gone viral on social media, with a large number of users praising his action as a positive message.

A Twitter handle on behalf of Cristiano Ronaldo Fans wrote, Coca-Cola pays a lot of money to promote itself in Euros. Coca-Cola bottles are placed in front of players during press conferences. Ronaldo looks at the bottles and puts them aside. Diya and carrying a bottle of water encouraged people to drink healthy.

I really like Coke Zero but I will follow Ronaldo's lead, wrote user Carlos Dee. Today I drank my last Coca Cola. Thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo, I need a healthy diet.

Another user, Anjali Lal, wrote, I'm not very interested in football, but I've learned that Cristiano prefers water to Coca-Cola. I like people who are real in every area of life.

I don't think Ronaldo will advertise Coca-Cola any time soon, wrote a Twitter handle on behalf of Future Consideration.
