Overseas Pakistanis should have the right to vote, Shahbaz Sharif

Shahbaz Sharif  proposed reserved seats for Overseas Pakistanis in the National Assembly and Senate.
 



 Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and PML(N) President Shahbaz Sharif  proposed reserved seats for Overseas Pakistanis in the National Assembly and Senate and said that PML-N would play a role in giving the overseas community the right to representation in the government.


He said that the representatives of overseas Pakistanis would be able to present issues while representing in the parliament. Shahbaz Sharif also proposed allocating 5 to 7 seats in the National Assembly and 2 seats in the Senate for Pakistanis abroad.


The PML-N president said that the procedure and conditions for representation in the seats should be decided by the political parties in the parliament and the required legislation could be enacted with the consensus of the political parties.


He said that the procedure would ensure guaranteed representation of Pakistanis abroad in the parliament while seats in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly are reserved for the representation of overseas Pakistanis. Overseas Pakistanis come to the country and vote according to the registration of votes. 


Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistanis abroad are valuable assets and glory of Pakistan and all the problems faced by the overseas community in Pakistan should be solved. PML-N has always encouraged and valued overseas Pakistanis.
