Overseas Pakistanis should have the right to vote, Shahbaz Sharif

Shahbaz Sharif  proposed reserved seats for Overseas Pakistanis in the National Assembly and Senate.
 



 Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and PML(N) President Shahbaz Sharif  proposed reserved seats for Overseas Pakistanis in the National Assembly and Senate and said that PML-N would play a role in giving the overseas community the right to representation in the government.


He said that the representatives of overseas Pakistanis would be able to present issues while representing in the parliament. Shahbaz Sharif also proposed allocating 5 to 7 seats in the National Assembly and 2 seats in the Senate for Pakistanis abroad.


The PML-N president said that the procedure and conditions for representation in the seats should be decided by the political parties in the parliament and the required legislation could be enacted with the consensus of the political parties.


He said that the procedure would ensure guaranteed representation of Pakistanis abroad in the parliament while seats in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly are reserved for the representation of overseas Pakistanis. Overseas Pakistanis come to the country and vote according to the registration of votes. 


Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistanis abroad are valuable assets and glory of Pakistan and all the problems faced by the overseas community in Pakistan should be solved. PML-N has always encouraged and valued overseas Pakistanis.

Agreement between PITB and Chirp Technologies to make Lahore a smart city

  Punjab Information Technology Board and Chirp Technologies will work together to make Lahore a smart city. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in this regard at a function held at Arfa Tower, signed by Director General PITB Faisal Yousuf and CEO Cherp Technologies Asif Hussain.  The ceremony was attended by senior officials of both the institutions.  The new system will enable real-time monitoring and management of other smart city applications in the city, including air quality sensors, waste bin sensors and street light sensors.

Pakistan will not provide any base to US: PM Imran Khan

     Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to provide bases in Pakistan after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. In an interview with an American TV channel, he said that it was not possible for Pakistan to allow the CIA or US special forces to carry out any operation in Afghanistan from Pakistani soil. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the United States wanted to sit in other countries and keep an eye on the militants during the withdrawal from Afghanistan, so it was in talks with Pakistan for cooperation.  A few days before Prime Minister Imran Khan's interview, Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry had termed the news of US Air Base in Pakistan as baseless and said that there was no truth in such allegations. Mud volcano in Balochistan

  So far 18 mudflats or mud volcanoes have been discovered in Balochistan. One of them, Chandra Gupta, said to be the world's tallest mud volcano.
