Former Test cricketer and magician league spinner Abdul Qadir was later awarded the Imtaraz Star Amitaz Award.
Former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir was posthumously awarded the Sitaz Amitaz Award at a ceremony held at Governor House Lahore. The wife of the late former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir received the award from Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.
Abdul Qadir passed away in Lahore on September 6, 2019 due to a heart attack. In recognition of his services, he was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by President Arif Ali last year.
Representing Pakistan, Abdul Qadir took 236 wickets in 67 Tests and 132 wickets in 104 ODIs.
Abdul Qadir worked day and night to teach his art to his youngest son Usman Qadir. Usman Qadir could not play for Pakistan in his life but these days he has become an integral part of the national squad.
Usman Qadir and his brother Salman Qadir have thanked the government for honoring their father.
