Central Jail Peshawar Inmates Sports Festival will start from July 29 in which male and female inmates will compete in different games.


 

These views were expressed by Central Jail Peshawar Superintendent Maqsood Khattak while addressing the closing ceremony of the cricket tournament held on the occasion of Eid. 

He said that in collaboration with the District Sports Office Peshawar and the Directorate of Sports, a sports festival would be organized next week on July 29 to attract prisoners to healthy activities in which male and female prisoners would participate in various games.

Addressing the function, the Member Provincial Assembly said that the PTI government was using all its resources for the promotion of sports in collaboration with the District Sports Office Peshawar.

The holding of a sports festival by the provincial government at the Central Jail in Peshawar is a testament to the fact that the PTI government is serious about attracting inmates to positive activities.

For which the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan who also has the portfolio of Sports Department is less to be praised.

Holding sports competitions in Central Jail Peshawar will increase the tendency of inmates to create positive activities and enthusiasm.

He appreciated the organization of the sports festival and said that the sports event in the Central Jail has changed the atmosphere and a new ray of hope has been seen in the inmates.

He also lauded the efforts of Jail Superintendent Maqsood Khattak for providing healthy activities to the inmates and hoped that the provincial government would continue similar healthy activities in the future.
