Ruling on including the subject of the end of Prophethood up to Masters

Subjects ranging from primary to masters should be included on the demise of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).



The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ruled on petitions seeking the removal of offensive material on the Internet, ordering the government to include material on Hazrat Muhammad's (PBUH) demise in subjects ranging from primary to master's classes.

The Lahore High Court has disposed of all petitions seeking removal of offensive content on the Internet. Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Qasim Khan in his 12-page judgment laid down guidelines for the government.

The court said that subjects ranging from primary to masters should be included on the demise of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The government should also form a special cell comprising IT experts under the supervision of PTA (Pakistan Telecom Authority).

The court further said that emphasis should be laid on setting up offices of social media websites in Pakistan so that action could be taken against them and immediate action should be taken to curb inappropriate content.

The decision of the Lahore High Court said that the government should design an official website where authoritative articles related to Quran and Hadith are kept, a portal should be created on the official website where there are links to authentic Islamic websites and pages.

I should also run an advertising campaign.The court ruled that if there were no complaints about inappropriate content, the authority itself would act in accordance with the law.

During the hearing, the court repeatedly asked the PTA chairman if Facebook would refuse to block pages sharing offensive content or create new pages to spread offensive content that violate the Constitution of Pakistan and the law. It is against which the integrity of Pakistan may also be affected. In such a case, will the state institutions play the role of silent spectator?

 According to the detailed decision, the PTA chairman told the court that if no action is taken by the relevant platform to remove such content within a reasonable time, the PTA will immediately block all such sites.
